Ishan Salah, a pioneering artist in the field of watercolor painting since 1989, has a deep passion for this medium. She has meticulously selected the finest watercolor paints and tools, recognizing their crucial role in achieving exceptional results. During her early years at the Fine Arts College, she organized her first exhibition, showcasing her innate artistic talent.
Ishan believes that art and creativity are born from intuition and feeling alone, considering these the primary driving forces behind an artist’s hands. She has dedicated herself to the intensive study of watercolor painting alongside other traditional mediums like oil paints, since her graduation from the Fine Arts College with a specialization in painting. She was among the top three graduates in her class.
Following her graduation, Ishan Salah taught art skills to gifted students at her private studio for three years. Subsequently, she spent over 15 years teaching art and various artistic disciplines in private schools. Her ability to identify and nurture young talent, coupled with her organizational skills, has led to numerous local and international exhibitions and biennales.
A firm believer in art’s capacity to serve humanity, her diverse works often reflect the human experience, particularly focusing on women, society, and its complexities. While she excels in watercolor painting, her oil paintings and sketches of long-lost cities also captivate audiences.
In recent years, Ishan Salah has contributed significantly to the art world through her critical writings on art and its societal and structural challenges. Although she acknowledges the importance of classical art and its various schools, she is equally renowned for her abstract works executed in black ink or watercolor. Her commitment to nurturing young talent of all ages is rooted in her belief that art is the lifeblood of society.
